These four-syllable first-and-middle-name combos yield gorgeous names like: “Luna Zoey,” “Luna Leah,” “Luna Nova,” “Luna Willow,”& “Luna Ava” – which somehow sound sing-songy and rhythmic to me in the most pleasant way.īut that brings me to another pattern that for some reason I’m kind of obsessed with when pairing Luna with middle names: using a name with the last letter “a” that mirrors the last letter in Luna. Two syllable names that match the number of syllables in Luna are also ridiculously pretty, and actually might be my favourite combination. They almost sound like fictional characters in their perfection, at least to me. Take name combinations like “Luna Mae” or “Luna Lee” for instance – stupid cute, are they not? That being said short and sweet middle names that are only one syllable long are also ridiculously pretty when paired with Luna. Luna being so short means a long middle name, even with four syllables (like Luna Elizabeth), doesn’t make the whole name spoken together sound like too much of a mouthful, which is really nice. I don’t think this is particularly true for long first names, as I think, baring some exceptions, long first names pretty much necessitate shorter middle names that balance them out.

Oh, and it’s obviously got the most gorgeous meaning – the word “luna” of course meaning moon in Latin and a plethora of Latin-based languages like Spanish and Italian. It’s short and sweet sounding, it’s ridiculously cute (in my opinion) and it’s just got a nice ring to it that most names can’t boast. Luna is a stunning name, one which I feel has become a lot more common these days, yet is still not anywhere near common enough to make the name feel like it’s not unique.
